The
History
Our Beginnings
The Epsilon Iota chapter of KKΨ was chartered on October 6, 1968, at Mansfield University. It grew from the former Delta Sigma Band Club with the assistance of the then director of bands Donald Stanley. The chapter is currently sponsored by Dr. Nathan Rinnert, Assistant Director of Bands and Tuba Professor, and serves the band under the supervision of Dr. Adam F. Brennan, Director of Bands.
More History
Epsilon Iota is part of the Northeast District of KKΨ. The Northeast District is one of six, and is home to 46 chapters of the fraternity, stretching from Maine to Virginia. Our chapter works jointly with Tau Beta Sigma's Gamma Chi chapter to serve the Mansfield University Bands.
Epsilon Iota was recognized as one of the “Top Ten” chapters nationally in 1969-71 and 1971-73 with the William A. Scroggs Founders' Trophy. The chapter was also nominated for the A. Frank Martin Award in 2004-2005.
In 2024, Epsilon Iota received an award for being the first chapter to have ALL active members sign up for Northeast District Convention
